Covid-19 Writers relief fund

Since early March, we have seen an uptick in layoffs, job cancelations, fellowship/residency delays, and more. We hear often how unprecedented these times are, and we applaud our essential workers, bang pots and pans for those burdened by frontline efforts. Art reminds us of our humanity, and yet, it always takes a backseat to our means-to-an-end work. These days, that work is in short supply. Here at The Atlas Review, we would like to help as much as we can. We have a modest budget from chapbook sales that we would like to donate back to the community.

If you are a writer in need of assistance*, please fill out this Google Docs form. While we can’t offer much, we can at least send you enough money to help with groceries and bills. This is specifically for those writers who have been laid off, have fallen ill, or are currently a caretaker for a loved one. We especially want to prioritize BIPOC folks who live in vulnerable parts of the United States/world, especially those who live in food deserts or areas that lack consistent access to potable water.

  • As of May 19, 2020, we are out of funds; however, we continue to accept donations from those who are able to give, and we encourage those in need to fill out the form no matter. When funds become newly available via donation and subscription, we will send money to the next applicant in line. We know this isn’t ideal. We stand in solidarity with you, and know that we will do everything to ensure you receive funds as soon as possible.

If you are a writer who has the means to donate to writers in need, go ahead and send money our way and we promise to help support a writer in need.
