This year, we are undertaking seven chapbooks. Ellena Savage’s Yellow City (originally a 2018 TAR chapbook title), Joey De Jesus’s Noct: The Threshold of Madness, Rae Gouirand’s The History of Art, Trevor Ketner’s White Combine: A Portrait of Robert Rauschenberg, Olatunde Osinaike’s Speech Therapy, Shannon Sankey’s We Ran Rapturous, and Kina Viola’s Darkcutter. These titles explore trauma and red tape, queerness, blackness, hot and heartbreaking queer love, existential explorations in 20th century art, reconciling masculinity, multi-generational illness and disability, and spitting in the eye of your assailant. The poetry and prose this year is gritty, unforgiving, and so alive we are just a little afraid of them.
